One of the largest Alumni reunions in recent years, was in its second day at Bates College today with nearly 500 people expected to be on campus the rest of the weekend. As in recent years the Outing Club was providing a babysitting service and organized activities for youngsters who are coming with their parents. This morning a group of youngsters were taken swimming to Tripp Lake and another group went canoeing at Nezinscot River in Turner. Many of the children stayed on campus and participated in games of tennis, softball and tossed Frisbees around. The Outing Club has been providing entertainment for alumni in recent years to enable them to attend reunions. The program has proven to be beneficial, Bates News Bureau Director Arthur Griffith said today as he watched the youngsters depart on their trips. Many more alumni were able to attend because of the service. While their children were being entertained alumni attended faculty seminars in the Little Theater.
