AUGUSTA — The Big Apple at 36 Stone St. in Augusta was robbed Saturday afternoon, and the suspect remained at large Sunday, according to police.

An unidentified man demanded an undisclosed amount of money, according to the Augusta Police Department, which was notified of the robbery at 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
Police did not say whether the suspect got away with money.
The suspect fled before police arrived and had not been identified as of Sunday, according to Deputy Chief Kevin Lully.
Lully said the Kennebec County Sherriff’s Office also responded and used a trained dog to help with the search for the suspect, who fled on foot.
Lully did not provide details of where the suspect fled or if the suspect was armed.
Police described the suspect as a white man between 5 feet 3 and 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 to 200 pounds. He wore a black sweatshirt, black boots, a camouflage hat, a black backpack and light-colored pants.
