BETHEL — Here at Telstar High School, there are many great opportunities. One of them is the chance to travel. This past April, 13 current juniors and seniors went to Greece and saw many interesting places and things that made it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. There were 15 open spots for anyone who was able to pay for the trip.
Ms.Ingraham, the person who put the trip together, said that there were some challenges along the way. Right off the bat, they missed their flight and having the local currencies and getting a credit card that worked in Greece was a struggle. The time difference was also something they had to get used to, but it was all worth it.
The students got to see many amazing places, such as the Acropolis in Athens, the Ploca District, Delphi Temple of Apollo, the island of Crete, and others. They also had Greek cooking classes where they made Greek foods. The students had Greek nights, where they heard Greek music and learned Greek dances. And of course, they all had some free time to explore.
One of the people who went on the trip was Gabby Groves. Gabby is currently a junior at THS. Gabby expressed that the trip was the best opportunity she has ever had and will ever get. Gabby and some others that went on the trip said it was a great chance to make new friends and get closer to the people they already knew. The free time they had was used to soak up the culture and it brought everyone closer together. Gabby says her favorite part of the trip was going to Delphi and seeing the beautiful mountains.
