The Lewiston Public Library is set to host a Library After Dark: Board Game Night at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 200 Lisbon St.
This event is open to teens and adults.
Whether a seasoned veteran or new to the world of board games, people can stop by for old classics, new favorites, and a chance to meet like-minded people, according to a news release from the library.
Admission is free; no reservations are required.
The programs are offered nationally to provide space for adults to do non-traditional library activities. The initiative was created to help reduce the occurrence of illegal activities in communities that had few options of things to do outside of work for adults. Since its creation, the idea has spread to many libraries and expanded to help show that libraries are centers of the community and can offer more than just book-related programming.
