WALES — Selectmen discussed Tuesday night the possibility of having an annual firemen’s muster, based on the success of Saturday’s hand tub pumping competition that attracted teams from all over New England.
Fire Chief Scott Dimmick said the competition was a major success. He also thanked them for the help in planning and organizing the department barbecue.
The board discussed establishing it as an annual event, with other attractions such as a bounce house for children.
In another matter, Bill Austin of the public works department said Picnic Painting submitted a bid of $5,880 to paint the town salt shed. The board of selectmen approved it.
Austin also said he would like to purchase dividers, at $425 each, for the salt shed. He agreed with selectmen to hold off for now.
