NEW GLOUCESTER — Selectmen on Monday unanimously re-elected Steve Libby as chairman. Linda Chase was elected vice chairwoman.
Newly elected Selectman Mark Stevens was welcomed.
Staff will review sealed bids for a 1.3-yard wheel loader for the Transfer Station and make a recommendation to the board at a future meeting. The ranged from $69,000 to $95,000 from six Maine companies.
Selectmen awarded a low bid of $82,000 for a Public Works’ truck to Freightliner.
A lawn tractor and mower contract was awarded to Chad Little Outdoor Power Equipment of Brunswick for $11,076.
Invitations to bid for a combination dump body/sand spreader, a snowplow with wing, and sand and gravel will be posted and due by July 18.

* Frank Chambers to the Public Safety Committee
Selectmen Josh McHenry’s recommendation to review and revise the process for appointing committee members is being studied. Selectmen will hold a workshop on the subject in the near future.
The board approved a change order for the Morse Road reconstruction project to use riprap for stabilization of slopes and embankments rather than turf-reinforced matting, as well as changing some culverts at stream crossings at a cost not to exceed $10,000.
