Define what “success” would look like if you are elected to serve your district.
As a teacher at Mt. Ararat High School, success meant helping all of my students succeed and grow while achieving their full potential. As a state senator, I strived to do the same for the people and businesses that called Sagadahoc County and Dresden home. Good ideas don’t have a party affiliation and if elected to serve our town in the Maine House, success will mean continuing to work with people of all backgrounds to move Topsham and our state forward.
Characterize your view on public access to governmental business.
I will always promote creating pathways that increase public participation in our legislative process. In the last session, the public was given the option to offer testimony virtually. This allowed Mainers who are generally unable to participate in state government the opportunity to have their voice heard regardless of their zip code, while still allowing in-person testimony. This change expanded access greatly, and is something I will urge the Legislature to continue offering.
