PERU — The Peru Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the Peru Historical Society building.

TURNER — The Stephens High School Class of 1955 will meet for their monthly luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Chick-a-Dee Restaurant.
Texas Hold’em
RUMFORD — Free classes on how to to play Texas Hold’em will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at the American Legion Hall.
Red Hatters
FARMINGTON — The Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine will meet at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, in back of the Dixfield Post Office to carpool to Farmington for a tour of the Nordica Museum. There is a $2 fee for the tour. Lunch will follow at the Homestead Restaurant. To reserve a spot, call Lorraine at 357-9786 or June at 562-4510 by Friday, July 22.
They held their June meeting at the Dixfield Library with 21 ladies attending. Birthdays were recognized and the teapot exchange was made. The group then attended a Skye Theatre performance.
Gun course
BETHEL — NRA-NMLRA basic pistol, rifle and shotgun muzzleloading shooting course will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at Pooh Corner Farm, Greenhouse & Florist. The cost is $200 per person.
