(from a Journal photo) Sixth graders at Auburn’s Central School have been learning about the Christmas customs of 15 foreign countries, their international Christmas projects involving the making of national costumes and flags, and the writing of reports, and traditional foods from each of the faraway lands. Fred Hanscom, represents Spain, having studied that particular country’s Yuletide customs, while the national costume worn by Rose Ouellette, and the gingerbread house, in the foreground are both German. The costume was made available by another student, Terry Durgin. Youngsters participating in the project are students of Mrs. Vesta Rand and Carol Delaney.
