OXFORD — Oxford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, July 29, at the Kay House Museum on Pleasant Street.
The evening will begin with a short business meeting. The program will be presented by Cubby Swan on hobos. Refreshments to follow.
Craft sale
BOLSTERS MILLS — The “Some Assembly Required” Craft Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church.
To donate unfinished projects or craft supplies, call Sharon at 743-7002.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the scholarship fund to send kids to Camp Mechuwana, a Methodist Camp in western Maine.
Skunk Run
LOCKE MILLS — The ninth annual Skunk Run in memory of Sandon Morgan will be held Saturday, July 30, at the American Legion Hall.
Motorcycle Run registration will take place from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. with departure time at 10 a.m. The guided 136-mile tour will travel through Bethel into New Hampshire and will include a rest stop, gas stops and porta-potties.
A free lunch and water will be provided to run participants.
A pig and turkey roast will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., with salads, watermelon, rolls, Brad’s beans, cold beverages, desserts and more.
All bikes and groups are welcome. there will be long-sleeve and short-sleeve T-shirts and hats available for purchase.
The fee is $10 for each event. Proceeds benefit the Sandon Morgan Scholarship Fund, which is presented exclusively for Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School or Telstar Regional High School students.

Grange supper
NORWAY — The Heywood Club will sponsor a public supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Norway Grange Hall on Whitman Street. Ham, cold salads and a special dessert will be served. The price for adults is $7, and children 5 and under are $3.
Yard, bake sale
WEST PARIS — West Paris Historical Society’s annual hall and yard and bake sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, across from the library on Main Street.
Up for sale are some antiques, old garden and yard tools, china lamps, kerosene lanterns, knick-knacks, lots of quilting material, hoops, an eight-person quilting rack, sewing items, one-yard-plus pieces of cloth, bags of make-a-quilt squares, sewing notions, needlework, two lap quilting holders, two standing holders, ham radio gear, a table saw with hand electric tools and more. Everything is very fairly priced.
The baked goods for sale are from local kitchens with nothing but the freshest of ingredients with no preservatives. There will also be steamed red hot dogs and drinks for sale.

Combined services
BETHEL — The Rumford United Methodist Church will join the Rumford Center United Methodist and Bethel United Methodist churches Sunday, July 31, for a combined service at the Bethel Methodist Church at 10. There will be no service at the Rumford churches on July 31.
Trap shooting
OXFORD — Running deer and trap shooting will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at the Lake Thompson Fish and Game range on the Paine Road in East Oxford. Open to members, guests and the public.
Participants should bring their own food and drink; no alcohol please. A grill will be available.

WATERFORD — The Waterford Historical Society is still selling tickets to see Maine humorist Tim Sample live onstage at the North Waterford Church at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4. Doors open at 6. Tickets are $15 in advance $15; $18 at the door, if available.
Advance tickets are available at Books-N-Things, 430 Main St., Norway, and Bridgton Books, 52 Main St., Bridgton.
Advance tickets can also be purchased from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at the Old Town House, Open House, by Keoka Lake; at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Wilkins breakfast, Waterford; from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Waterford Library; and from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Waterford Old Town House by Keoka Lake.
Socrates Cafe
WATERFORD — Socrates Cafe will meet at the Waterford Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome.
The topic for the August meeting is “Should We Have A National Service?” The moderator will be Earl Morse.

Yard sale
NORWAY — A yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Responsible Pet Care and Pawsibilities Thrift Shoppe, 132 Waterford Road.
Items will include antique, vintage and new items, refreshments and baked goods.
Table space is available for $10. The rain date will be Aug. 7.

Art show
SOUTH PARIS — The Moore Park Art Show, to be held Aug. 13 (rain date Aug. 14) is accepting applications for food vendors, community groups and artists booths. The show, which will feature 50 artist exhibitors and live entertainment, is also seeking groups to sell food throughout the day.
All booth spots are 10-feet by 10-feet. Food vendor booths are $60 and include electricity. Duplication of items is avoided to allow maximum vendor sales. Community booths are $25 and include nonprofits, church groups, associations and more.
Artist and artisan booths are still available for painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, glass work, pottery, fiber arts, wood carving, basket weaving and more. These booths cost $60 and require submission of photos of art work for exhibitors who have not previously participated in this show.

Adams reunion
WILTON — The 133rd annual reunion for the descendants of Moses and Martha Kinney Adams was held July 16 at Kineowatha Park. There were 12 members present.
A potluck lunch was enjoyed by all. A business meeting followed.
The oldest member present was Bernard Adams Jr., 94, of Canton. The youngest was Prudy Adams, 41, of Canton.
One death was reported during the past year, Gwen Bessey of South Paris. There were no births reported.
Next year’s reunion will be held July 21 at Kineowatha Park. For more information about next year’s reunion, contact Gary Adams at 645-4013.
