- It was a team effort to compete in the Back Seat Driver contest at the Waterford World’s Fair with the ATV driver being blindfolded and the driver in the wagon in back directing the driver. The team with the best time and the least penalties was Danny and Candi Gilpatric of Minot, who walked away with the 1st place prize of $100. They are pictured with chairperson Faylene McKeen, left. In 2nd place was a mother/daughter team of Katie Warren and Darcy Winslow of Harrison, who received $50. Third place went to Taylor Hafner and Megan Bocchino of Bridgton, who received $25. Other contestants were 4th, Stacy and Michelle McGrath of Waterford; 5th, Richard Morse and Dottie Wilson-Morse of Waterford; 6th, Adrian Morin and Cheryl Cheever of Waterford; 7th, John McGrath and Jackie Mann of Braintree, Mass.; 8th, Ciara Nadeau and Josh Kuvaja of Woodstock; 9th, Ben Tucker of “The Tucker’s Pub Team;” 10th, Jenn McMahon of Norway, Dan Mcallister and Marie Theriault of Buckfield (last year’s winners), and 11th, Bonnie Boomsma and Rusty Wiltjer of Waterford.
