LIVERMORE FALLS — Regional School Unit 73 is in the process of filling several essential leadership positions following resignations, Superintendent Bob Wall said Tuesday.
In July, RSU 73 directors accepted resignations of district Media Specialist Cathi Howell and Spruce Mountain Adult Education Director Carrie Castonguay. Both took jobs in other school systems.
When the board meets at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at Cedar Street board room in Livermore Falls, directors will consider resignations from Assistant Superintendent Sue Pratt, who is the new superintendent of RSU 40 in Knox and Lincoln counties, and Spruce Mountain High School South Campus Principal Jim Holland. Holland, who was principal of Livermore Falls High School for one year, is now principal of South Portland High School.
Wall said positions have been posted and applications for them are arriving. He’ll also be considering filling positions in the interim until candidates are hired, he said.
In other business, directors plan to go into executive session to discuss personnel appointments prior to appointments being made.
Wall is making several nominations to the board, including Alan Grondin to the position of full-time bus driver/custodian at the Livermore Elementary School night position contingent on proper certification and approved Maine Department of Education fingerprint status, according to the agenda.
Longtime bus driver/custodian Mary Hayford of Livermore has also submitted her resignation to retire, effective Friday, Aug. 12.
