WEST PARIS — If the migrating birds which have been steadily returning to the western foothills in recent days are an indicator of Spring, it’s here. Still, a few cold days but the sun quickly warms us. Please join us on Sundays, at 9 a.m. for a warm and inviting experience in community. Music is performed by Tom Coolidge. Refreshments following the service. All are welcome.
April 9, Easter Pot-Luck Breakfast, at 8 a.m., followed by our Easter service at 9 a.m. (We no longer hold a sunrise service.)
April 9, Seasons of the Self, led by The Rev. Fayre Stephenson. Using Rev. Max A Coots’ poem, “Seasons of the Self” as a starting point, on this joyous Easter Sunday we will consider human willingness to change and the necessity of transformation for spiritual renewal.
April 16, Taoism and Nature, led by guest speaker, Richard Pollack. Taoism is an ancient Chinese philosophy with deep roots in nature. It is timely to consider the wisdom of the Tao as spring emerges around us. Richard is retired and lives in Scarborough. He has a lifelong interest in Eastern philosophy.
April 23, Roots of Resilience, led by The Rev. Fayre Stephenson. In ecology, resilience is defined as the capacity of an ecosystem to respond to a disturbance by resisting damage and recovering quickly. Recent studies show that the Earth is more resilient than we thought. Join us for a message of hope for our Mother Earth on this day after Earth Day. April 30, We will be closed on this Sunday and attending church as a group at the Universalist Church in So. Paris. This service will be at 9:30 a.m.
