WILTON — Two people were arrested Thursday in connection with a rash of residential burglaries between May and June, interim police Chief Richard Billian Jr. said Friday.
Officer Billie Martin arrested Christopher C. Crandall, 24, of Wilton, on a warrant on a felony charge of receiving stolen property, he said. She also issued Crandall’s mother, Linda J. Walsh, a summons on a felony charge of receiving stolen property, Billian said. Walsh was also arrested on a warrant charging failure to appear on a motion to enforce payment restitution.
Police had executed a search warrant at the Crandall’s house at 25 Union St. in Wilton several weeks ago and recovered stolen goods, Billian said. He declined to say what was stolen.
Items will be returned to owners once the case is finalized, he said.
Billian said he is “happy with the hard investigative work that led to the search warrant and arrests of these suspects. … The citizens of Wilton should rest assured that their Police Department will work diligently to provide a feeling of safety.”
Jay Police Department assisted Wilton with the arrest and bringing Crandall and Walsh to jail in Farmington.
