LEWISTON— Work at Dufresne Plaza will replace uneven pavers with concrete slabs and will include utility work and beautification efforts, according to a news release from the city. The project, which starts Monday, is expected to conclude in mid-June.
Parking along Lisbon Street will not be affected; however, those who park on Park Street or at the Oak Street garage and commute through the plaza will be redirected to the stairs located between Mother India restaurant and Rusty Bus Brewing Co., at 114 and 120 Lisbon St., respectively.
Lewiston Public Works Director Mary Ann Brenchick said the city is aware how much people enjoy the plaza during the warmer months and efforts are underway to make the project swift and to keep it minimally disruptive.
“And, when the project ends, the plaza will be an even better place to be,” Brenchick said.
