Rod Run
HEBRON — The 39th annual Rod Run, presented by Downeast Streetrods, will take place on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 19 and 20, at Hebron Pines, Route 124. This pre-1972 car show includes hot rods, jalopies, rat rods, street rods and customs. Duplicate bridge
OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Aug. 12. Finishing first in flight A N/S were Bailey Geeslin (Waterford) and Mike Quinn (Otisfield), second were Jim Krainin (Naples) and Milt McKeen (Bridgton) who also were first in flight B and C, third were Henry Deutsch (Massachusetts) and Richard Balian (Waterford).
Finishing second N/S flight B were Marty Round (Casco) and Wilma Johnson (Casco), third were Nick Karamessinis (New Gloucester) and Roseanne Bloss (New Gloucester).
Finishing second N/S flight C were Ruth and Charlie Tyler (Maryland).
Finishing first E/W flight A were Lucille Theriault (Lewiston) and Luke Merry (New Gloucester), second were Paul Kahl (Gorham) and Rick Verrill (Gorham) who also were first in flight B, third were Cynthia Clifford (Lewiston) and Claire Lyons (Lewiston) who were second in flight B. Finishing first E/W in flight C were Denny Raymond (Waterford) and Hank Sakrison (Poland), second were Cindy and Bob Kirchherr (South Paris), third were Priscilla Rooth (Brunswick) and Hazel Glazier (Norway).

Chicken pie
BOLSTERS MILLS — The “famous” chicken pie supper will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, at Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church. First seating is at 5 p.m., second at 6, third seating to follow as needed.
Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children under the age of 12. Supper includes chicken pie, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, rolls, homemade dessert and beverages.
Handicap accessible, air conditioned.

Dance changed
WATERFORD — The dance at the Waterford World’s Fairgrounds that was scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 20, has been changed to Aug. 27. The Rockin Road Runners will play from 8 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $10. The snack bar will be open for light refreshments and free ice.
Grange outing
HEBRON — Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will hold their annual summer outing at the Greenwood Mountain Inn at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21. Members are asked to bring their picnic lunch with a dessert or salad to be shared. All members and guests are welcome.
Turkey supper
MINOT — The Hebron Historical Society will hold a turkey supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the West Minot Grange hall. $8 adults, $4 under 12, complete with beverage and dessert. Proceeds will help pay for the society’s new home.
Annual picnic
OTISFIELD — The annual picnic of the Otisfield Historical Society will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at Camp Arcadia. Those attending should bring their own lunch and something to share with the group. The Historical Society will provide beverage. Camp Arcadia is located on State Route 121 near the Casco line.
Civil War info
HEBRON — The Hebron Historical Society will host Richard and Marcia Cylik and their presentation of the personal aspects of the Civil War soldier at their Tuesday, Aug. 23, meeting. The Cyliks will do their presentation in period garb. Mr. Cylik is a re-enactor as a member of Company A, 3rd Maine Regiment Volunteer Infantry. The presentation will be at the Hebron Town office at 7 p.m., following a short meeting. The public is invited.
Sale donations
PARIS – REACH (Rape Education and Crisis Hotline) will hold a fundraiser yard sale on September 2 and 3, 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations of all kinds are being accepted now at the REACH office, 1 E.
