WILTON — Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a rear-end collision on routes 2 and 4 near Tractor Supply, interim Police Chief Richard Billian Jr. said Thursday.

Linda Grondin, 63, of Wilton was slowing down because it appeared another vehicle in front of her was going to turn into Tractor Supply, when a car driven by Kyle Walsh, 17, of New Vineyard ran into the back her car, he said.

The accident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. and was handled by officer Brad Timberlake.

There was damage to Grondin’s 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and the 2001 Ford Taurus Walsh was driving, Billian said. The Taurus was registered to a family member of Walsh’s, Joel Parlin of Farmington, he said.

Both were transported by NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulances to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington to be checked, he said.

Timberlake was assisted at the scene by Wilton firefighters and Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies.
