NASCAR Nite
RUMFORD — The Rumford Elks Lodge will host a NASCAR Nite on Saturday, Aug. 27. There will be raffles and a 50/50 as well as sausage sandwiches (regular and hot) with onions and/or peppers being served from 5 to 7 p.m. for $6. Takeout will be available. Seniors meet
BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Funky Red Barn. The menu will be a choice of prime rib or baked haddock.
Reservations must be made before Sept. 7 at noon by calling Caroline Gould at 824-3226 or Arlene Lowell at 824-2877 with your choice. The price is $10.
Isabella meeting
RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle #504, Daughters of Isabella will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Holy Savior’s Church Hall.
Committee members are chairpersons Lorraine Barre and Simonne Rafuse. Also on the committee are Mary Morgan, Dorothy Bernard, Viola Worcester, Marie Coffin and Alfreda Kaulires.

Red Hat Mommas
PERU — The Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine held their August meeting with a brunch at Clara Allen’s camp at Worthley Pond. There were 30 ladies in attendance, lawn games were enjoyed and a partyboat ride was offered to anyone who wished to ride around the pond.
The next meeting will be held at Pulsifer’s in Peru (rain or shine) at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20. Bring a picnic lunch and a lawn chair. Fruit salad, beverages and desserts will be provided. The cost will be $3. Call L. French at 364-3182 by Friday, Sept. 16.
Yard, food sale
RUMFORD — Rumford Senior Citizens will hold an indoor yard and food sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at 50 Congress St. Donations for the food and sale tables are welcome.
