BETHEL — Rusty Lantern Market at the corner of Mayville Road and Parkway Road is expanding. The adjacent building where Pat’s Pizza once stood has been demolished and the site work currently underway is for future improvements said Corporate Office Administrator Alyse Oram.
She said they are going to make it, “more like, the Rusty Lanterns we have built from the ground up. We are doing some clean-up, making room for new stuff.” Asked to be more specific, she said, “I’m not exactly 100% sure I just know they are going to be doing improvements to the building.”
She confirmed it will not be anything other than a larger parking lot or a building addition.
Rusty Lantern, based in Brunswick, is owned by CEO and Manager John Koch. He has 25 stores. Most are in Maine, a few are in New Hampshire and Massachusetts; and he has one in Rhode Island. According to Company News the retailer has opened eight new convenience stores in the past 12 months.
The West Paris Rusty Lantern was demolished on June 5 and is expected to reopen in mid-October, 2023.
Their newest store in Louden, NH. is 4,200-square-feet and includes a full kitchen with a seating area; and an outdoor seating area, too. There are 10 fueling points, including two pumps under a larger canopy for boats, trucks, and motor homes.
