DEAR SUN SPOTS: Does anyone in Lewiston/Auburn do residential blown-in insulation? This would be a small project, not an entire building. Could I please get recommendations from readers? — Janet, no town

ANSWER: I can personally recommend Terminix. Folks probably wouldn’t think of this pest control company when looking for blown-in insulation services. (https://www.terminix.com/home-services/attic-insulation/#tmx-service-carousel).

I was provided with a free inspection and estimate and the small job was completed within a few weeks’ time. They also completed an attic insulation project at my daughter’s home.

I’d love to plump up the Rolodex with other recommendations from readers. Send them in!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I hope you have the address for the young person who lost money at the Topsham Fair (Aug. 16 Sun Spots). I’m asking you to forward this small amount of money in hopes that it softens the blow of his loss.

My children always had jobs and worked hard for their money, whether babysitting, delivering the Sun Journal or waitressing. But some people think just taking (what is not theirs) is easier than working for it.

If they do get the money back, they deserve the extra for being a hardworking citizen. — No name, Rumford

ANSWER: Our young Sun Spotter has not heard from anyone about the $100 he lost at the fair. It’s such a hard lesson to learn but you’ve shown him there are kind, caring people in the world.

I arranged to meet up with this young man and his mother so I could hand off your gift in person. I read your letter to him, withholding your name as you requested. He was so surprised and touched that he was temporarily speechless. Then he said, “I never dreamed a stranger would do this. How could anyone be so nice?”

He slipped the money into his pocket, but then realized it should be given to his mother for safe keeping in her wallet until they got home.

Know that you made a big impact on this young person. I got a lovely hug to pass on to you! It was awesome to be part of this mission, and if there’s any more news to report, I’ll be sure to let everyone know.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Lewiston Auburn Community Little Theatre is hosting its first online Envelope Challenge! This is a unique way to celebrate CLT’s historic performance record over the past 83 years.

The Envelope Challenge on the CLT website features 300 envelopes from $1 to $300, each with a request to “Buy Me.” Successful completion of the challenge means about $45,000 for CLT for an even more vibrant future for all. Some of those envelopes are holding a special prize.
