FARMINGTON — Ella Pelletier tallied a hat trick for Oxford Hills in a 3-1 KVAC girls soccer win over Mt. Blue on Friday.

Pelletier notched one goal in the first half and scored two more times in the second half. Maddie Miller provided an assist on all three goals.

Maddy Herrick had eight saves in the win for the Vikings (1-0).

The Cougars (0-1) scored their lone goal in the second half.

HALL-DALE 1, MONMOUTH ACADEMY/WINTHROP 0: Hayden Madore scored with 2:43 left in double overtime as the Bulldogs (1-0) edged the Mustangs (0-1) in an early-season MVC clash in Monmouth.

Paula Clark provided the assist on the goal, and Audrey Gilbert made five saves for Hall-Dale.

June Foyt turned away 19 shots for the Mustangs.

“She kept us in the game. She had some great saves tonight,” Monmouth/Winthrop coach Gary Trafton said of Foyt.

MT. ARARAT 5, LEWISTON 1: Islah Godo converted a penalty kick, and Katherine Therriault and Lexi Dupre also scored in the first half to start the Eagles on their way to a win over the Blue Devils in Topsham.

Julianna Allen and Jaelyn Jensen added second-half goals.

DEXTER 5, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Brenden Berg found the back of the net on more than one occasion for the Tigers (1-0) in the road win against the Phoenix (0-1) in an 8-player game in Jay.

All five of Dexter’s goals came in the second half.

Nathan Galligan only needed to make one save in the win for Dexter.

Jonathan Hines scored in the second half for Spruce Mountain. Blake Gemelli made three saves for the Phoenix and Trevor Hogan also saw some time in goal for Spruce Mountain.

VOLLEYBALL
BRUNSWICK/MT. ARARAT/MORSE 3, LEWISTON 0: The Dragons took a three-set sweep of the Blue Devils in Brunswick, 25-15, 25-16 and 25-17.

Kaitlyn Shannon led Lewiston with three aces and five kills. Nadifo Heban had two blocks, and Ella Gahagan finished with three assists.

In junior varsity action, Lewiston won in two sets, 25-22, 25-21.
