RAYMOND — The Hawthorne Community Association invites the community to walk down memory lane at a light potluck supper at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Boyhood Home, 40 Hawthorne Road.
Locals can share their personal memories of growing up on Raymond Cape and the Sebago Lake area during the Remembering Raymond Cape as it once was event.
The supper will be offered before stories are shared, and there will be a slide presentation of historic local photos running in the background, designed to spur memories and conversations.
“Over the past few years, folks in this area have done an incredible job supporting our efforts to restore the Hawthorne House, and this is one way of giving back to them. We look forward to a heartwarming gathering of old neighbors and friends,” said Tom Ewig, newly elected president, in a news release from the association.
Admission is free, with donations to help in the ongoing effort to restore Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Boyhood Home accepted but not necessary.
For more information, contact Ewig at 908-962-4450 or tewig43@gmail.com.
