BUCKFIELD — Brittany Carrier scored a pair of goals as Buckfield won a Class D girls soccer battle of unbeatens against Temple Academy on Friday.

Chloee Bennett also scored for the Bucks (3-0), who led 2-1 at halftime. Cora Brewster notched two assists and Mya Austin added another. Kianna Finnegan made five saves in goal.

Mia Fitzpatrick scored for the Bereans (2-1) and Karissa DeWitt stopped six shots.

CARRABEC 4, TELSTAR 2: Leah Price scored all four goals to lead Carrabec past Telstar 4-2 in girls soccer action in North Anson.

Macie Plourde made six saves for the Cobras (3-0-0).

Morgan Zetts and Karen Marshall each scored a goal for Telstar (0-2-0).

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 4, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Jilyan Byrne scored a pair of second-half goals to help send the Raiders (1-2) past the Phoenix (0-3) for their first win of the season on the road in Jay.

Phoebe Sartory also scored in the second half for Fryeburg, with all three goals coming in the final 16 minutes after the game was tied 1-1. Emily Chaine notched an assist during the late run.

Sally Baptista opened the scoring for the Raiders in the first half, and Tateum Leclerc answered for Spruce Mountain on a breakaway.

Tyoaka Hodgkin made 11 saves in net for the Phoenix, and Juliana Pacini only needed to make one for Fryeburg.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3, LEAVITT 2: The Patriots (1-2) used three different scorers to edge the Hornets (1-2) in Turner.

Ella Brown and Izzy Morelli scored in the first half for Gray-New Gloucester, which led 2-1 at halftime. Sara Patriquin added a second-half goal.

Kylee Spugnardi scored from Nola Boutaugh for Leavitt’s first-half goal, and Abbie Sirois found the back of the net in the second half.

Abigail Joyce and Hailey Carson combined to make six saves in goal for the Patriots, while Jamie Ellis stopped five shots for Leavitt.

CARRABEC 5, TELSTAR 1: Lucas Vicneire had two goals and two assists to pace the Cobras to the win.

Desmond Robinson added two goals and an assist for Carrabec (2-0-0) while Zach Crawford had the other goal.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3, LEAVITT 0: Aiden Hebert and Noah Hebert scored second-half goals to send the Patriots (1-2) past the Hornets (1-2) in a Class B South tilt in Gray.

Ben Cobb opened the scoring in the first half for Gray-New Gloucester. Tristan Cuttler made four saves to secure the shutout.

FIELD HOCKEY
SKOWHEGAN 8, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Sydalia Savage scored four goals to pace the RiverHawks (3-0) past the Red Eddies (1-2) in Skowhegan.

Layla Conway added two goals and Kaylee Bruce and Elli Quinn each scored once.

Kasey Smith made three saves in goal for Edward Little and Kylee Lebrun added five. Michela Provost earned the shutout in net for Skowhegan without having to stop a shot on goal.

LEWISTON 2, OAK HILL 0: The Blue Devils (3-0) scored a goal in each half to remain undefeated with a win over the Raiders (1-1) in Lewiston.

Savannah Connor-Schade scored from Gabby Thomas in the first quarter, then Maddy Freeman converted off a nice pass by Jasmine Connor-Schade to double the lead in the second half. Sarah Mack secured the shutout by making six saves.

Sierra Lane stopped 14 shots in goal for Oak Hill.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
UMFK 4, CMCC 1: The Bengals blitzed the Mustangs early, scoring three goals in the first 14 minutes of the game to earn the win in Fort Kent.

Petagay Dixon opened the scoring 8:24 into the contest, Nevillegail Able scored from Naylea Mendoza just inside 11 minutes, and then Able assisted on Julia Audunsdottir’s goal 13:05 into the game.

Kamoy Brown scored a second-half goal to put UMaine-Fort Kent up 4-0.

Monmouth grad Mya Sirois ended the shutout with a goal for Central Maine with just over four minutes left.

Lewiston grad Ava Simpson made seven saves in goal for the Mustangs, while Dreanna Thaw turned aside two shots for the Bengals.

MEN’S SOCCER
BOWDOIN 1, BATES 0: Mateo Pacelli scored the lone goal in the second half as the Polar Bears (2-0-0, 1-0-0 NESCAC) edged the Bobcats (0-2-0, 0-1-0 NESCAC) in Brunswick.

Felipe Rueda Duran assisted on the goal in the 55th minute.

Trevor Hammond stopped five of six shots in goal for Bates, and Alex Ainsworth made the only save he needed to for Bowdoin to secure the shutout.
