BRIDGTON — The Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club hosted a “Shot” Event at the Mountain Driving Range in Bridgton on Thursday, August 31. Open to all with free buckets of balls and tasty Street Eats appetizers, a dozen Rotarians were joined by 10 spouses and friends.
The event was a chance for golfers to hit some balls and for others to enjoy food and fellowship. As a prelude for the 12th Annual Golf Tournament at Bridgton Highlands Country Club on Saturday, September 16, a nice time was had by all.
President John Eliassen remarked, “It’s not too late for Golfers to register. The Shot event was a teaser and for all of us to kick back and relax. For more information or to register, email Lisa Ryan, Committee Chair, at LakeRegionRotary@gmail.com or find a registration form at https://lakeregionrotary.com.”
Rotary’s Motto is ‘Service above self’. The Golf Tournament is the club’s biggest fundraiser each year and helps to fund hosting Community Kettles, donating winter outerwear to youngsters, providing dictionaries to 3rd graders, offering scholarships, addressing Veterans’, Substance Abuse, and Child Safety issues, and much more. The Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club meets on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays each month at Stella’s on the Square, 6 North High Street in Bridgton. The meetings are free. The Calendar at https://lakeregionrotary.com will provide the schedule of speakers and other activities.
