A new accompanist, Morgan Lee, has joined the Maine Music Society as it begins its Golden Jubilee Season.
Lee has built a career as a soloist, collaborative pianist and teacher. She recently graduated from the University of Connecticut with her Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance, where she studied with Angelina Gadeliya. Morgan also holds a Master of Music from Mannes School of Music and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University, according to a news release from the society, a mixed-voice community chorus based in Lewiston-Auburn.
She has participated in music festivals in the U.S. and abroad and has performed recitals in New York City, Italy, Spain, France and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Lee has nearly 10 years of private teaching experience and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Eastern Connecticut State University, piano faculty at the Bronx Conservatory of Music, and a teaching fellow at Mannes School of Music.
She is staff accompanist at the University of Southern Maine Osher School of Music, teaches piano at Stone Coast Music, and regularly performs as principal keyboardist with the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
