I write in rebuttal to Rich Lowry’s column (“Yes, Joe Biden is corrupt,” Sept 17).
President Jimmy Carter negotiated the peace between Egypt and Israel, and had his negotiations with Iran undermined by the GOP so that the hostages were released at the same moment President Ronald Reagan took his oath of office. He was not incompetent.
Joe Biden took office under much more economic turmoil than Donald Trump. He’s done much more than his predecessor for the economy. He’s not incompetent.
President George W. Bush tried to pass immigration reform, but Sen. Mitch McConnell said no, it would benefit the Democrats. Trump said “I’ll take the heat” but u-turned after Sen. Tom Cotton and Rep. Jim Jordan pointed out it would do ditto for Dems.
As long as the GOP has anything to do with immigration policy they will continue to use it as a club to beat the left.
Rich Lowry is smarter and, usually, more honest. Shame on him. As far as Joe Biden being a criminal goes, insinuation is not evidence. He should see Benghazi as an example.
