AUBURN — Stefanie Mahr Damien has announced her campaign for Auburn City Council representing Ward 5.
The announcement said she is committed to being “a city councilor that supports transparency in local government, and is responsive, engaged and accessible to all the residents of Ward 5.”
“She will work collaboratively and listen to the concerns of all the residents of Ward 5 to find the best solutions to meet the needs of the residents of Auburn,” it states. “Specifically, the protection of Lake Auburn, housing needs for all residents, including our older citizens, protecting our neighborhoods, a responsible recycling program, and the protection of Auburn’s natural resources.”
Mahr Damien has been a resident of Ward 5 since 2015, living in the city’s agriculture and resource protection zone with her husband who has lived in Auburn since 1973. She owns an interior design business and has purchased and renovated nine homes in central Maine with her husband.
Additionally, Mahr Damien is a caregiver to her 83-year-old aunt and 89-year-old mother, which has given her “firsthand knowledge of the need for services for senior citizens.”
