WEST PARIS — The following worship services are planned for October 15 to 29. Please join us as we gather on Sundays at 9 a.m. for informative and inspiring worship services. Music is performed by Tom Coolidge. Refreshments following the service. All are welcome.

October 15, ‘Wisdom Seeking’ led by guest speaker, Joan Beal. We hope to become older and wiser as we age.  But what is wisdom and how does it find us?

October 22, ‘Surprise!’ It’s human nature to be taken somewhat off balance by change or shocked by the unexpected.  However, there’s also much to be gained, even enjoyed, within surprise. Guest speaker, Maryli Tiemann, will join us with helpful insights from philosopher and historian, Yuval Noah Harari.

October 29, ‘Blessings’ led by The Rev. William Campbell. Based on the beatitudes as the text–Matthew 5:1-12. The Beatitudes are not a how-to guide to the Christian life, encouraging us to mourn more or seek out persecution. Martyrdom is not our goal. Christians are not masochists. But neither are we afraid to face whatever the future may hold because in Jesus we can see that nothing can push us beyond the love of a caring God. In these teachings of Jesus, we see that we need not be tyrannized by a fear of the future, because we know that blessing awaits in every condition. The Rev. Scott Campbell
