AUBURN — Leah Thibodeau’s goal lifted Edward Little to a 1-0 field hockey victory over Yarmouth on Monday.
The loss is the first for the Clippers (9-1-1) this season.
The Red Eddies (7-5) aggressive offensively, sending 17 shots at the goal. Clippers goalie Quincey Schnee (12 saves) stopped most of them, but Thibodeau put one in the cage in the third quarter.
Edward Little goalie Kasey Smith finished with two saves.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 4, HALL-DALE 0: The Phoenix (11-1) shut out the Bulldogs (6-5) in Farmingdale to earn their 10th consecutive win.
Brooklyn Fournier assisted on Spruce Mountain’s first two goals, scored by Amelia Holland in the first quarter and by Aubrey Kachnovich in the second.
Olivia Mastine wrapped up the scoring with goals in the second and third quarters. Samantha Martin set up Mastine’s first goal and Kachnovich assisted on the second.
Hall-Dale goalie Jade Graham stopped 12 shots.
BOYS SOCCER
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 6, VINALHAVEN 0: Jesse Lewis tallied three goals and an assist as the Phoenix (2-7-1) flew past the Vikings (0-8) in Vinalhaven.
Myles Godbey added two goals and Jonathan Hines helped out with a goal and an assist. Matthew Harding picked up two assists and Wyatt Foss and Brody Veilleux each notched one.
Blake Gemelli secured the shutout with four saves. Hunter Hamilton stopped three shots for the Vikings.
GIRLS SOCCER
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Seniors Ciara Abbott, Brooke Chase and Brooke Bennett all scored on senior night as the Falcons (4-8-1) topped the Phoenix (0-12) in Rumford.
Emma Koch and Alianna Mazza provided assists for Mountain Valley and Kloee Pelletier made one save in goal.
Tatum Leclerc scored the Phoenix’s goal off a rebound of a shot by Ashley Nelson.
Tyoaka Hodgkin made 11 saves for Spruce Mountain.
