100 Years Ago: 1923

The BPW club is invited to a private opening of the Mary Elizabeth Gift shop, over the Bates Remnant store, which Miss Mary Dixon is having especially for the members Friday afternoon and evening. Members planning to attend the supper preceding the meeting of the club Monday night, must notify Miss Carrie Wills by Friday night. Currier & Simpson are to cater. It is expected that Miss Mary Penney, State President, will be present at lunch.

50 Years Ago: 1973

The Gourmet Club of the Lewiston-Auburn College Club held a meeting at the East Auburn IGA Store this week, when Richard Williams, manager, gave a demonstration and talk on meat purchasing and usage. Afterward, the members exchanged meat recipes. After the presentation, which included information on the qualities of meat cuts, members exchanged meat recipes, and then were entertained at the Taylor home on Maple Hill Road, Auburn.

25 Years Ago: 1998

A benefit fashion show for Loon Echo Land Trust will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Bruce and Susan Saunders of Raymond on the shores of Sebago Lake.
