BETHEL —  Telstar Student Council kicked off  Homecoming week with a pep rally on Tuesday. Homecoming games were played throughout the week. “Homecoming celebrates Telstar’s  clubs and athletic teams,” said Student Council Advisor Co-President and Visual Arts Teacher Tera Ingraham. Telstar Librarian Kelley Fraser is her co-advisor.

The student council chose Barbie Dreamworld as the theme of the week. Each day the students dressed up with Barbie themes.  Tuesday was ‘American Barbie’, Wednesday was ‘Weird Barbie,’ Thursday ‘Career Barbie,’ and Friday was ‘Barbie vs. Ken.’

Each class competes to have the largest percentage of students dressed up.  This year the senior class won on three of the four days, accumulating winter carnival points each day.

“Right now the seniors are leading the winter carnival points, just ahead of the juniors by 12 points.  The current seniors won winter carnival last year and are ready to do it again,” added Ingraham.
