Jeff Harmon has attended Planning Board and City Council meetings and, while I applaud his commitment, there is cause for concern.

One topic was Planning Board approval of Stable Ridge Apartments. During those meetings there was in-depth discussion, professional opinions from staff and experts on topics such as traffic and school impact, as well as a legal opinion.

Mr. Harmon left those meetings and simply ignored the facts, instead creating a narrative through his mayoral campaign to support his lawsuit against the city in order to block the project, a lawsuit that recently failed, with his argument called “absurd” and “illogical” by the judge.

I’m disturbed to think that our tax dollars were wasted on an “absurd and illogical” effort to defend his backyard.

I support those who make decisions based on data-driven facts and professional opinions, and not a biased interpretation of reality.
