Travis Treloar scored an unassisted go-ahead goal early in the second period, and Quinnipiac handed Maine its first men’s hockey loss of the season, earning a split of their two-game series with a 4-1 victory Saturday night in Hamden, Connecticut.

CJ McGee and Mason Marcellus also scored for the defending NCAA champion Bobcats (4-3), and Sam Lipkin clinched the win with a short-handed empty-netter. McGee’s goal came just 1:10 after David Breazeale opened the scoring for Maine (3-1) at 12:47 of the first period.

FOOTBALL

WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 42, UNE 7: Dillon Kohl rushed for two touchdowns and the Golden Bears (5-3, 2-1 Commonwealth Coast) gained more than 300 yards on the ground in a win over the Nor’easters (6-2, 2-1) in Biddeford.

UNE scored on the first drive of the game. Jarrett Henault capped an eight-play, 78-yard march with a 15-yard pass to Berto Zepeda.

But the Nor’easters were shut out the rest of the way, as Henault threw two interceptions and was sacked three times. He 23 of 35 passing for 212 yards.

ENDICOTT 23, HUSSON 13: Anthony Caggianelli and Clayton Marengi each rushed for a touchdown and Ryan Smith kicked three field goals as the Gulls (7-1, 3-0 Commonwealth Coast) beat the Eagles (5-3, 1-2) in Bangor.

Nic Visser threw two touchdown passes for Husson – 6 yards to Marcus Sessoms in the third quarter and 15 yards to Cullen Casey with 18 seconds remaining. Visser was 25 of 33 for 218 yards, but the Eagles were held to 12 yards rushing.

(1) GEORGIA 43, FLORIDA 20: Carson Beck threw two touchdown passes in his hometown, Daijun Edwards ran for two scores, and the Bulldogs (8-0, 5-0 SEC) dominated the Gators (5-3, 3-2) in Jacksonville, Florida, to extend their winning streak to 25.

Georgia scored on its first four possessions and stuffed the Gators early and often.

(4) FLORIDA STATE 41, WAKE FOREST 16: Keon Coleman needed only one arm to snag one of his two touchdown catches, amd Trey Benson took a short pass and broke loose for an 80-yard score that Seminoles (8-0, 6-0 ACC) rout the Demon Deacons (4-4, 1-4) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Jordan Travis threw for 359 yards and three scores to go with a rushing TD for Florida State, which ran off 24 straight points in the second quarter to build a 34-7 halftime lead.

KANSAS 38, (6) OKLAHOMA 33: Devin Neal ran for 112 yards and the go-ahead touchdown with 55 seconds left, Oklahoma’s Dillon Gabriel threw incomplete to the end zone on the final play of the game, and the Jayhawks (6-2, 3-2 Big 12) beat the Sooners (7-1, 4-1) in Lawrence, Kansas.

Kansas snapped an 18-game losing streak to the Sooners in their final matchup before Oklahoma departs for the Southeastern Conference.

(7) TEXAS 35, BYU 6: Maalik Murphy threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns in his debut as starting quarterback for the Longhorns (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) in a win over the Cougars (5-3, 2-3) in Austin, Texas.

Murphy, a redshirt freshman, replaced Quinn Ewers, who was sidelined with an injury to his throwing shoulder.

(8) OREGON 35, (13) UTAH 6: Bo Nix threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns, and Utah (6-2, 3-2 Pac-12) had an 18-game home winning streak snapped by the Ducks (7-1, 4-1).

Oregon racked up 390 total yards and forced two turnovers.

(10) PENN STATE 33, INDIANA 24: Drew Allar threw three touchdown passes, including a tiebreaking 57-yarder to KeAndre Lambert-Smith with 1:46 to play, and Penn State’s defense forced a late safety to clinch a win for the Nittany Lions (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) over the Hoosiers (2-6, 0-5 Big Ten) in State College, Pennsylvania.

Allar hooked up with Khalil Dinkins and Tyler Warren for touchdowns and Nick Singleton ran for another score for the Nittany Lions, who recovered after blowing a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.

(14) NOTRE DAME 58, PITTSBURGH 7: Xavier Watts had two of Notre Dame’s four interceptions, Audric Estime rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns, and the Fighting Irish (7-2) overwhelmed the Panthers (2-6) in South Bend, Indiana.

(18) LOUISVILLE 23, (20) DUKE 0: Jawhar Jordan ran for a career-high 163 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cardinals (7-1, 4-1 ACC) past the Blue Devils (5-3, 2-2) in Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville posted its first shutout against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent since a 72-0 victory over Florida International on Sept. 21, 2013.

(22) TULANE 30, RICE 28: Michael Pratt threw for 263 yards and accounted for three touchdowns as the Green Wave (7-1, 4-0 AAC) held off the Owls (4-4, 2-2) in Houston.

(24) USC 50, CALIFORNIA 49: Linebacker Eric Gentry deflected Francisco Mendoza’s pass in the end zone on a 2-point conversion try with 58 seconds remaining, and the Trojans (7-2, 5-1 Pac-12) ended a two-game losing streak by edging the Bears (3-5, 1-4) in Berkeley, California.

BOSTON COLLEGE 21, UCONN 14: Kye Robichaux ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns, Thomas Castellanos threw for another score and the Eagles (5-4) beat the visiting Huskies (1-7) for their fourth straight victory.

RHODE ISLAND 34, NEW HAMPSHIRE 28: Ja’Den McKenzie ran for four touchdowns, including the winner, and the Rams (5-4, 3-3 CAA) beat the Wildcats (4-4, 2-3) in overtime at Kingston, Rhode Island.

UNH quarter Max Brosmer finished 41 of 61 passing for 456 yards and two touchdowns.
