BETHEL β Last week Telstar Middle School football team crushed Boothbay 38-6 in a playoff game. On Nov. 4, the Rebels were defeated at home, 48-6 by Dirigo Middle School in the championship game. The sole TMS touchdown was scored by Payson James.
Under coach Leroy Varnum, the team worked hard this season finishing second overall.
The previous year they had one win and four losses. This year they reversed their record to finish 4-1.
Varnum with Assistants Lisa Campbell and Shannon Sumner directed the seventh and eighth graders with help from high school student assistants Hunter Koskela, Michael Cummings and Kimball Coolidge.
βIt was a great season and they should be proud of themselves,β said Campbell.
