AUBURN — Jason Walker, 51, would help others with whatever they needed, he was a selfless and giving friend, according to his obituary. He always made sure his wife and two sons were protected and provided for.
After high school, he joined the Army National Guard but spent most of his time working in construction, according to his obituary. He was a man who could research various topics and self-teach. As an avid bowler, he was a league member at Just-In-Time Recreation. He also dabbled in vegetable gardening, creating YouTube videos, preserving seed and harvest, making homemade sausage and baking sourdough bread.
Walker was at Just-In-Time Recreation on Oct. 25 bowling with his friend Michael Deslauriers Jr., who was also killed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial Saturday, with visitation from 9 a.m. to noon at The Fortin Group in Auburn. The memorial service will begin at noon. The 2:30 p.m. committal ceremony will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sabattus.
