The people of Lewiston have already decided that mayoral candidate Jon Connor is not for us; we voted him out of the state Legislature in 2022.
Despite his past experience, Connor cannot speak clearly about how he would address the issues he believes are critical to Lewiston’s future as a place people value. His answers in the Oct. 2 Sun Journal candidate profile are vague, and he relies on push-button words rather than presenting solutions.
Mayor Carl Sheline, on the other hand, tells us exactly what he has been doing to address those very same issues. Another term would let him implement these projects to increase housing and decrease substance abuse.
Lewiston needs Carl, and Carl needs us. I hope residents vote Sheline for mayor on Dec. 12.
