Author David Florig, a member of the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance, left, talks Saturday with Anita Clearfield of Litchfield after signing his book during the “Maine Authors for Lewiston” book signing event at the Lewiston Public Library. Florig organized a series of 10 book signing events all over the state during the past three weeks to help raise funds for three different charities collecting money for victims of the Oct. 25 mass shooting. All the participating authors agreed to donate a portion of their proceeds from the events to the charities to help the healing and recovery efforts of all those involved in the recent tragedies. “I came out to support local authors, find Christmas presents and help a worthy cause” says Clearfield.
