If you attended the Yulefest at Gould Academy last night (12/12), you were fortunate to see, hear, and experience another reason I’m grateful to live in Bethel. Aside from the excellent quality of the music and the overall performance, it was wonderful to see the collaboration between resident area musicians and the Gould students.
The talent in both groups and the music they created together was truly impressive and extremely well performed. Great kudos to Gould’s Jim Mclaughlin for what he was able to put together; I had been told in advance that it was going to be a first-quality performance, but I thought it went far beyond that.
We are all lucky to have such a high-quality local band in our small town, and the blend of “seasoned” locals and younger Gould kids, who all complemented each other so well, was great fun to watch and listen to.
And if you didn’t attend, you definitely should plan to be there next year to enjoy this wonderful, synergistic event.
