(Sun Journal photo) There really is a Santa Claus–At least that’s what little Sheilah Metayer must have thought Friday when her parents were given a roomful of clothes, toys and food, and a sum of money collected by the Lewiston Fire and Police Departments. Lewiston Fireman Metayer’s home was badly damaged in a fire last week and while LFD members are pitching in to get the house back in shape, a lot of donations have been collected. “The Fire Department is very grateful for the help for the Metayer’s,” Santa (Fireman Frank Tapley) said, and added that bedroom furniture is still badly needed. Shown in the photo are Lt. Norm Cloutier, Tapley, LFD Chaplain Chouinard, Sheilah and Mrs. Metayer, Sgt. Tony Grenier, and Fire Chief Reginald Doucette. Toys from this week’s patrol-boy Christmas party were donated by the liaison officer.
