FAIRFIELD — A Skowhegan woman is facing charges of operating under the influence and criminal speeding after police say they caught her driving drunk at more than 100 mph.

Kristen Gullifer, 35, was arrested around 11 p.m. Tuesday when a Fairfield police sergeant clocked her driving at over 100 mph in a 55 mph zone on Norridgewock Road, the town’s police department said in a news release.
The officer, Sgt. Patrick Mank, then conducted field sobriety tests, which indicated Gullifer’s blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08%, according to police.
Gullifer was taken to Somerset County Jail in East Madison with bail set at $500, police said. Online jail records indicate she had not posted bail as of Wednesday morning.
Operating under the influence is generally a class D misdemeanor in Maine, punishable by up to one year in prison and $2,000 in fines, according to state statutes. Criminal speeding is a class E misdemeanor, punishable by up to six months in prison and $1,000 in fines.
