Boiled dinner
INDUSTRY — A New England boiled dinner will be held beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Industry Town Hall. Menu will be corned beef, ham, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions, turnip, beets, breads, desserts and beverages. Adults $8, children under 10 $4. To benefit the United in Christ Presbyterian Church and Starks Progressive Club.
Grange supper
JAY — North Jay Grange Public Supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, with beans, casseroles, salads, cole slaw, dessert and beverages. Adults $7, child 10 and under $3. Dinner music provided. For information, call 645-4628, 645-2217 or 645-4211.
Feast, dance
WELD — “A Hot Time in the Old Town” feast and dance will take place Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Kawanhee Inn. Serving will be at 5:30 p.m., dance begins at 7. To benefit the Weld First Responders and Volunteer Fire Department.
Advance tickets are $20 a person for the dinner and dance, available at The Weld General Store, Weld Town Office, Morning Glory Bakery, Skoolhouse Variety, Mt. Blue Trading Post or Kawanhee Inn. Tickets are $25 at the door.
Price of ticket includes a buffet featuring the Kawanhee Inn’s regular menu and dancing to the DJ music of Michael Scott. There will be “fire sale” beer and wine specials.
Kawanhee Inn is donating 25 percent of all proceeds to the Weld First Responders and Volunteer Fire Department.
Square dance
WILTON — Friendship Squares will host a mainstream/plus square dance from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Cushing School. The caller will be Lee Kennedy and the cuer, Carol Stewart. Casual attire. All are welcome.
“Pickle” workshop
FARMINGTON — A customer service workshop, “The PICKLE: The Next Chapter,” will be presented by Julie Guerin from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Fairbanks School Meeting House.
Using the ideas and concepts covered in “Give ’em the PICKLE,” this training will have participants share their experiences in a hands-on interactive workshop designed to highlight and explore the “best practices” of customer service. The cost is $35 per person, with a $5 discount for people who attended the first “Give ’em the PICKLE” series.

JAY — North Jay Grange will hold a food and rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8. There will be lots of items, clothing and more.

Lemieux benefit
WAYNE — A benefit for Melanie Lemieux will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Ladd Center, Gott Road.
The Wayne Community will hold a family-style supper in honor of Lemieux, who is battling cancer, in an evening of positive spirit and support for her and her family, which includes two young children. The menu includes spaghetti dinner, salad, dinner roll, homemade dessert, coffee, iced tea or lemonade. The evening will be accompanied by live music. The cost is $5 per person, with a $20 maximum per family.
There will be many items to be raffled, gift basket raffles and a 50/50.
