- Safe Voices hosted a candlelit vigil at the town Gazebo in Dixfield on Monday night. The vigil was to honor those who have lost their lives to domestic violence and those that are still facing abuse. Three children from Rumford, center, from left, Malachi Knox, 8, Gena Elliot, 11, and Gabby Provencher, 8, set up a lemonade stand and collected soda cans to raise money for the cause. They purchased 150 feet of purple ribbon and made bows that were placed on 74 homes around Rumford to help commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
