Homemakers meet
PERU — The Peru Extension Homemakers will meet at the home of Nancy Knox at 151 Ridge Road at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11. Those attending should bring a bag lunch and yearly dues. Beverages will be provided.
The group is seeking ideas for the upcoming raffle basket. New members are cordially invited to attend.

Historical Society
DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, in the Charter Meeting Room of the museum. The featured program will be “scrapbooking,” looking through the many donated items that contain a wealth of information, pictures and memorabilia. Tables will be set up so that members and guests can look through the valuable collection. Autumn refreshments will be served.

Grange dinner
RUMFORD — Rumford Grange #115 will host a public harvest dinner from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Rumford Center Grange Hall. The meal features ham and corned beef along with potato, vegetables and homemade pies. The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children.
Poodunck Club
DIXFIELD — The Poodunck Snowmobile Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at the Webb River Sportsmen’s Clubhouse on the Canton Point Road. Everyone is welcome. Membership is available that evening as well. For more information call 562-4690.

Rumford Historical
RUMFORD — The next meeting of the Rumford Historical Society will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Rumford Falls Auditorium, located in the Municipal Building on Congress Street.
Ann Welch of South Rumford will give a presentation on the life and art of Jonathan Adams Bartlett. She is the current owner of the homes of Bartlett, and will discuss the architecture of the homes and will show pictures of his art work found on the walls.

Shared living
RUMFORD — Hope Association is looking for individuals in Oxford, Franklin and Androscoggin Counties to become Shared Living Providers. Caring people are needed to share their home and family life with an individual with intellectual disabilities.
An open house will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Hope Association, Lincoln Avenue. Learn what shared living is, responsibilities as a provider and the benefits of shared living. For more information call 364-4561.
RES craft fair
RUMFORD — The 19th annual Rumford Elementary School craft fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Rumford Elementary School on Lincoln Avenue. There will be jewelry, knit ware, canvas tote bags, wooden crafts, jams, jellies, pickles, holiday crafts and stamp crafts. Refreshments and lunch will be available. The school will also have a bake sale table, raffle items and children’s crafts for sale. Proceeds from this event benefit the students at the Rumford Elementary School.
