Celebrate Juneteenth
LEWISTON — In conjunction with Bates College, the Community Organizing Alliance will present its Resistance Through Joy Juneteenth celebration on Friday, June 20, from 4:30-7 p.m. at the college’s Benjamin Mays Center.
Resistance Through Joy was chosen as the theme because “coming together for celebration is a powerful act of unity in uncertain times,” organizers said.
The celebration will include live arts and performances, Southern cuisine, speakers and panel discussions and networking, all meant to “uplift Black voices, empower Lewiston youth, and build a stronger, more connected Maine.”
It is free, but tickets are required. Go to: tinyurl.com/yck93p62
The Benjamin Mays Center is at 95 Russell St.

Get boeing with a French farce
NORWAY — The Oxford Hills Music and Performing Arts Association will present the French farce “Boeing Boeing” from Thursday, June 19, to Sunday, June 29, at the Norway Grange.
This 1960s farce adapted for the English-speaking stage features self-styled Parisian lothario Bernard (really an American architect), who has Italian, German and American fiancées, each a beautiful airline hostess with frequent “layovers.” He keeps “one up, one down, and one pending” — until unexpected schedule changes bring all three to Paris, and Bernard’s apartment, at the same time. What could possibly go wrong?
Ticket options are $8 to $10 — all tickets $5 on opening night. Check times and availability. Go to: www.ohmpaa.com/tickets.html
The Grange is at 15 Whitman St. FMI: Call 207-613-5232 or email ohmpaa@gmail.com.
