Thanksgiving feast
LEWISTON — On Wednesday, Nov. 23, at noon, area families will combine resources in order to celebrate a Neighborhood Thanksgiving Feast. In the spirit of that first Thanksgiving, the varying dishes will reflect the rich heritage of both old and new residents here in Lewiston. Neighborly sharing will also enable families to enjoy a heartier meal than many could afford on their own. Shaw’s of Auburn and the Lewiston Hannaford are helping out with food, and several turkeys are being given and cooked by local volunteers.
This is the 24th Thanksgiving dinner sponsored by Hope House, which operates the Family Support Center at 91 College St. All are welcome to attend, whether able to contribute a dish or not. About 70 families are expected, and so is a lot of music, laughter, great food and friendships for which to be thankful. For more information, call 577-1165.
