‘Tis the season for promises to come true. This year, there is a continuing political season in Lewiston.

There are two mayoral candidates remaining. One who certainly has an abundance of promises, and one who has a firm grasp of reality.

One who wants to be a public figure who will “brighten” up the city, and one who is ready to roll up his sleeves and has the experience to move things in the “right” direction.

One who promises to rid the city of the “evil” Section 8 government-paid housing, and one who understands its purpose — that the program is not run by the city but, rather, by the Housing Authority and state of Maine, and who has the diplomacy needed to work with both entities to achieve a positive result for the city.

The choice on Dec. 13 is clear: Mark W. Paradis for mayor of Lewiston.
