The University of Maine women’s basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the America East coaches preseason poll Monday.
The Black Bears went 19-3 overall and 12-4 in the conference last season, losing to Vermont in the America East final. They return 10 players from that team, but lost two-time America East player of the Year Adrianna Smith to graduation.
Binghamton was picked to win the conference with six first-place votes. UMBC was chosen second and defending conference champion Vermont was third.
