Marlene M. O’Leary

EAST GRANBY, Conn. – Marlene M. O’Leary, 88, of East Granby, Conn., passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Lewiston, on June 29, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Cornelius and Lucyann (Paradise) O’Leary.

Marlene was born into a large and loving family as one of 12 siblings. She was a resident of East Granby, where she made her home with her nephew, John D. Ivanisin, and his wife, Mariann.

Marlene was predeceased by 10 of her siblings. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Davis and her husband, Joseph, of South Paris; and many other nieces, nephews, extended in family members, and friends.

After high school, Marlene followed a calling, as “Sister Marceline” with the Sister’s of St. Joseph, in Lewiston for nine years. Her life’s journey then lead her to become a respected legal secretary at Pratt and Whitney for nearly 30 years.

Marlene’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 8:30-9:30 a.m., at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, Conn. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine Church, 6 Windsorville Road, Broad Brook. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Broad Brook.
