LEWISTON — Monique A. Giard, 62, of 715 Center Minot Hill Road, Minot, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, Dec. 24, at Central Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 19, 1949, daughter of Fernand and Simonne Poisson. Educated in Catholic schools in Lewiston, she graduated from St. Dom’s in 1967. On Oct. 16, 1971, she married the love of her life, Daniel Y. Giard.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Lewiston. She worked for the last six years at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, but also continued to pursue her passion of making flower arrangements by running her own business in Minot: Lilac Hill Flowers. Previously, she worked for several years at Saunders Flowers, and also enjoyed working at the L.L. Bean call center in Lewiston.
She stayed very busy doing the things she loved; gardening, painting, sewing and swimming. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to the Caribbean Islands, and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and her sisters. She was an inspiration to all of those who knew her, and her smile and laughter were contagious.
She leaves behind her husband, Dan of Minot; daughter, Wendy and husband, Jeff, of Minot; son, Eric and wife, Kerri, of Methuen, Mass.; granddaughters, Elise and Megan of Minot and grandchildren, Lucas and Lily, of Methuen, Mass.; sisters, Louise of Lewiston and Diane and husband, Barry, of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents; her in-laws; and sister-in-law, Pat Giard Richardson, predeceased her.
