AUBURN — A white male wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt with a white sheet covering his face robbed a Washington Street variety store Saturday morning, police said.
The man walked into Dave’s Other Place at 539 Washington St. at about 10:55 a.m., said Deputy Chief Jason Moen of the Auburn Police Department. He said the man brandished a large knife and demanded money and cigarettes. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of both.
No one was injured. Police said the incident was under investigation.
The man was described as weighing about 130 pounds and between 5 feet, 2 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall. Witnesses said he was wearing blue jeans.
